The property in Little Chalfont, near Amersham was designed by an architect in the 1970s, this unique property was always had a noticeable presence amongst its neighbours. The original had been finished to a high specification and showcased advanced design skills for the period.
Whilst the homeowners wished to retain the quality and integrity of the house, they approached Linear Building Contractors to provide building services and property renovation. The owners were looking for a modern home, suited to 21st Century living, which drew on the influence of the existing property.
The major of the building services work involved constructing an upper floor for the property. The flat roof, box style was replicated in this upper floor extension. Close attention was paid to the details. The upper floor was finished with stunning timber cladding and large windows which overlook the mature gardens.
Comprehensive interior renovation was also undertaken by our experienced builders. A team of trades worked on lighting design and installation, tiling, plumbing, painting and decorating. A bespoke wooden staircase was also installed in the home.
The extensive ground floor windows and rear sliding doors were replaced with modern, energy efficient glazing. When opened, the doorways offer a seamless connection between the interior and exterior spaces.
Our builders rendered the original ground floor, along with detailing on the upper floor. The finish showcases the timber cladding and large modern windows, providing an aesthetic finish.
This architectural property has always caught the eye of passers-by, but in completing the extension and renovations on this Buckinghamshire home, we’ve really been able to add the wow factor.
