Having invested in regeneration and successfully attracted a high concentration of global headquarters, Slough is attracting the interest of many skilled workers. Just a short drive away and with both Pinewood Studios and Black Park on the doorstep, Iver Heath is a desirable place to live.
Our clients had been attracted to the area, but the detached property they owned was outdated and in need of a full refurbishment. Our brief was to create a spacious home that was suited to modern living requirements.
The project began with gutting the original house, ready for refurbishment. Our work also included the construction of a large, double-storey extension to the rear of the property. This replicated the style and shape of the original building, so it was in keeping with other houses in the neighbourhood.
Even with the large extension, the plot was sufficient to leave a good sized garden. We installed bi-fold patio doors to encourage the flow of movement from the house into the garden during the warm summer months.
To create further space, Linear Building Construction added a single-storey extension to the front. We also undertook a full garage conversion and undertook work to prepare the loft for use. This combination of building work created the additional rooms that the owners required.
We refurbished the interior with light, neutral décor, fittings and fixtures. This included adapting the original chimney-stack into a tiled TV stand and shelving, which is a striking focal point in the lounge. Following the complete property refurbishment, the owners were keen to move in and enjoy modern living.
